FAQ – IT

There are three ways to request help from the NAU IT Department:
1. Walk-In – Go to room 820
2. Phone – 832 230 5541
3. Email – support@na.edu

The first suggestion is to make sure your username and password are correct. Prior to contacting IT, take the following steps:
1. Log-out of Office365
2. Clear Cache and Cookies
3. Switch to Incognito mode(at the top right hand corner, click ‘More’, then ‘New Incognito Window’).
4. Disable extensions one by one to check which extension is causing the issue.
5. If the issue persists, reset your browser settings.
6. If the above steps don’t work, try to re-install the browser.
I need to send a fax, how can I do this on the NAU campus?
The NAU e-fax number is 183-230-5546. Please contact the NAU Secretary to send a fax(9th floor). You may also try a free online fax service.

1. Open the browser
2. Press Ctrl+Shift+Del
3. The ‘clear browsing data’ screen will appear, choose from the dropdown list “the beginning of time”
4. Check all listed items
5. Click on “clear browsing data”

• Access to “MyNAU Student” is only available through Office365. You can log into your Office365 account then click the “MyNAU Student” icon. The application will open automatically, no password required.

• click “Password Reset” link on the NAU website and follow the instructions.

There are two network printers available for students:
1) 9th Floor Library – Printer name: Lib5041
2) 8th Floor, General Purpose Lab – Printer name: 821mpc2800

• Your application username will be the first letter of your first name followed by your last name, i.e. for John Smith username will be jsmith
• If this does not work, send an email to IT Support at support@na.edu

We are using single sign-on technology. NAU users have one unique sign-on credential. Your na.edu username and password, ex: jsmith@na.edu and password.
You can use your single sign-on credential to log into WiFi, campus computers and other online resources.

The NAU network users have a wide range of availability in regards to IT services and options. For visitors to the NAU campus, the NAU_Guest is open for their temporary use and is very limited in network services.

When you send a message to support@na.edu, we receive it as a ticket. You will in turn get ticket number to track. You will also receive ticket updates and notification when the ticket is closed.

No, we don’t provide MS Office365 license for students. We have MS Office365 “in the cloud”, for online use only. You may purchase Office 365 for your personal use by visiting www.micrsoft.com

Yes, Computer Science students can get most MS applications except the MS Office package.

We will keep NAU Alumni accounts active for 3 years after in which the account will be deleted.

1. Log in to your Office365 account.
2. Click on the “MyNAU Student” icon.
3. The application will open automatically, no password required.
4. You will need to install an extension to your browser(you will be prompted the first time you access the site) and will only ask once. This is your user profile based extension; each user should add this extension in your initial log-in. The Moodle application is integrated into Office365. When you login to your Office365 account, click on the app launcher icon at the top left corner then click the “ Moodle NAU” icon.

Student can make copies in the library. The cost of copying is the same as printing.
Copy charges do not come from print accounts, it should be paid at the time of copying.
Students can also use the scanning machine in the library. This service is free of charge.
In order to use the scanner, students will need to provide a valid email address to get the scanned file.

Just send to print, if the document is colorful, the system will ask you to
Confirm if you wish to print in color. If you do not want to print in color, you can choose to print in black and white from the printer properties.

Black and White prints – 10¢ per page
Color prints – 25¢ per page

Each user will be credited $15 print dollars per semester
